Try Benzoyl Peroxide
Wash with an over-the-counter benzoyl peroxide cleanser morning and evening to help clear up mild acne.
Use ice
Apply ice to the affected area for 3 to 5 minutes. The ice halts the inflammation and may help the lining of the follicle heal itself.
Don't touch
The worst thing you can do is touch a pimple or spot when it first appears.
If you accidentally push the acne plug deeper into the skin, you may cause the follicle wall to rupture, causing a worse pimple.
Try Retin-A
A topical prescription Retin-A gel or cream causes peeling at the skin's surface and within follicles where acne forms.
This brings the plug to the surface faster, helps prevent new spots from forming and helps prevent scarring.
